Gurswhin graduated with BSc Physio at the University Stellenbosch in 2005. He completed his Community Service year at Barberton Primary Hospital and then worked at a sports practice in Paarl which had ties with Boland Rugby and various other sporting clubs. He started working at Alison Thomson Physiotherapy in 2008 and manages all sports injuries and rehabilitation, orthopaedic conditions, adult and paediatric chest pathologies and geriatrics.
Gurswhin is our Oasis Care Centre lead physiotherapist where he is part of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team that aims to optimise function of the patients post hospitalisation prior to discharge home. He also works weekends at Panorama Mediclinic which keeps his inpatient and ICU skills current.
He has also completed many continuing education courses incl dry needling, SPT1, Principles for Rehabilitation in various sport codes, Pilates matwork, strapping courses and various orthopaedic courses. In 2016, he completed the SASP Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy course and in 2108 he is undertaking the OMT (Orthopaedic Manual Therapy) course In his free time he plays golf, goes to the theatre and runs the occasional 10km and 21km event.
