Gurswhin graduated with BSc Physiotherapy degree at the University Stellenbosch in 2005. He completed his Community Service year at Barberton Primary Hospital and then worked at a sports practice in Paarl which had ties with Boland Rugby and various other sporting clubs. He started working at Alison Thomson Physiotherapy in 2008 and manages all sports injuries and rehabilitation, orthopaedic conditions, adult and paediatric chest pathologies and geriatrics.
Gurswhin is our Oasis Care Centre lead physiotherapist where he is part of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team that aims to optimise function of the patients post hospitalisation prior to discharge home. He also see outpatients at Millennium Business Park and does home visits when the need arises.
He has also completed many continuing education courses incl dry needling, SASP Sports Physiotherapy Course, Principles for Rehabilitation in various sporting codes, Pilates matwork, strapping courses and various orthopaedic courses. In 2016, he completed the SASP Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy course and in 2019 he completed the OMT (Orthopaedic Manual Therapy) course. In 2020 he also joined the Back and Neck Rehabilitation program.
His next focus is to complete the SASP Pain course to broaden his knowledge in this field. With vast clinical experiences, knowledge and enthusiasm in physiotherapy, Gurswhin strives to always do his best and serve the community.
In his free time he runs, cycles , play golf and enjoys hiking.
